Committees

Our committees are the backbone of our club. We work and have fun together while creating trail rides, great events, support for horse rescue groups, and fund raising that gives us the ability to do all these things for our members and the equine community.

We welcome anyone who wants to share an idea or lend a hand, even if it is for an hour. Seemingly small contributions add up and make us a better club.

If you are interested in any of the areas we have listed below please contact the committee chair. He or she will be glad to hear from you.
Each committee decides what to offer for events and equine challenges.

Events Committee - Paula Steindler 804-399-9429
This committee works together to decide the events that will be offered to the club each year. If you want to help shape the activities for the club, this is the group to be a part of.

Sunshine Committee - Sue Carrieri 804-241-2957
These caring members send cards or flowers to other members for accomplishments, hospitalization, sympathy and other times when club members need to be reminded that they are cared about by our membership.

Monthly Trail Ride Committee - Debi Anderson This dedicated group decides and plans monthly trail rides that will be offered to the club members.

Fundraising Committee - Ellen Miles This fun group determines what to offer as our annual fundraisers. Ideas in the works for this year:

                  Hunter Pace
                 Scrabble Run
We love to give ribbons and prizes while raising money for our club!
This and the Annual Rally need the most volunteers. One-two hours commitments are welcome.

Annual Rally - Tara Dean & Elaine Mathews The Annual Rally is a great event each year allowing all club members to ride, enjoy the company, and cheer for each other. Give yourself and your horse the chance to try new things and see what you can do with the support of other RSRC members trying new things too! We need help with ideas, set up, judging, clean up, food, etc. so any time you can give is appreciated!

Spring/Summer Program - Our annual spring/summer event can be any great equine event to be determined by the committee.

Ashland Christmas Parade - The annual Christmas parade that goes through the town of Ashland is great fun and shows off our club. RSRC has appeared in this event for the last 4 years. Riding in a parade is a "bucket list" item for many riders, come give it a shot!

Annual Christmas Party - This is an end of the year, compliment the volunteers, eat and have fun, kind of event. We always have a great time together at our Christmas party. The committee is working on a place, food and entertainment for this year's party! If you enjoy planning parties this is for you!
